Kristin Fisher has joined CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent team on July 20, 2021. As an official for the Space and Defense Department she covers all aspects of space from NASA to the newly formed Space Force as well as commercial space firms and tourism in space. Kristin has a background in the field of space as the grandchild and daughter of NASA astronauts. Over the last five years, she's been covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations in FOX News. Over the course of that time she covered the 2020 presidential campaign, two impeachment trial, two efforts to stop the pandemic coronavirus, as well as two different administrations' initiatives. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan in a trip that was highly restricted. Kristin has worked in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for more than a decade prior to being hired by the network. She won one Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as an CBS affiliate's one-man band reporter. Kristin used her experience in front of the camera to launch Field Mouse Films. The company specialized in producing documentary-style films, and became a preferred choice of corporate clients such as Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is a graduate in journalism from Boston University. Kristin is married to her daughter, and her three-year-old son in Washington, D.C.
